The Strong, Prosperous, And Resilient Communities Challenge
A nationwide poll sponsored by the Strong, Prosperous, And Resilient Communities Challenge (SPARCC) highlights strong support for investments that increase access to opportunity.
Nearly two-thirds (74%) of Americans agree more that lack of opportunities, not lack of hard work, keep people impoverished. What’s more, nine in ten say they support using public funds to invest in projects, from expanded access to health services and public transit to preparing for extreme weather events and updating housing policies, to help people lift themselves out of poverty.
These findings suggest that Americans know that not all neighborhoods are created equal, and that investments in equitable investments should be a priority for communities.
